PAOMFS offers different membership levels to accommodate practitioners at various stages of their careers

Full Fellows (FPFA)

Specialists limiting practice exclusively to Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and related Head & Neck fields

REQUIREMENTS

DMD degree from recognized institution
Additional degree: MD, MDS, PhD, or Certificate
Exclusive practice in OMS/Head & Neck Surgery
No general dentistry practice
Meet credentialing requirements
Adherence to Association bylaws

Associate Fellows

Practitioners working towards Full Fellow status through additional training and credentials

REQUIREMENTS

DMD degree from recognized institution
Working towards additional credentials
Commitment to limiting practice to OMS
Participation in continuing education
Pathway to Full Fellowship
Mentorship by Full Fellows

Trainee/Resident Members

Trainees enrolled in accredited Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency programs

Currently enrolled in accredited OMS residency
DMD degree holder
Full-time residency training
Access to educational programs
Reduced membership fees
Transition to Fellow upon completion

The PAOMFS, Inc. sought to unify the specialty in the Country. In the initial year of operation, the Association extended its hand to all those currently practicing oral surgery or maxillofacial/head & neck surgery who shared its vision, offering a short period of grandfathering (2013-mid 2014), provided that those wishing to join abided by the guidelines, rules and by-laws.

After the grandfathering period, applicants are required to meet all requirements for membership, ensuring the highest standards of the specialty are maintained.
