The Philippine Association of Oral and Maxillo Facial Surgeons currently supports a prototype Residency Consortium Program involving two, possibly three Major Medical Centers (two JCI Accredited, 1 University Affiliated) and the Cranio-Facial Foundation of the Philippines. This will be a 5 year post-D.M.D., M.D. program integrating a year of rotating medical internship and a Year or Two of General Surgery, in addition to Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. The program has international affiliates, and rotations, and its graduates will be trained to qualify for full scope / expanded scope subspecialty Fellowship Training in Major International Centers upon graduation.

The basic structure of this residency program meets the guidelines of both the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, as well as the British and European (E.U.) systems. The "internationally" required year of medical training will be obtained via the Rotating Medical Internship, and the year or two of General Surgery will be through an integrated off-service component, mid-residency, in the Department of Surgery of one of the Major Medical Centers or the University Affiliated Hospital. Currently one resident has begun, a second resident will start in 2014. This is "tuition-free" training, under a Hospital Department of Medical Education.

The policy of PAOMFS, Inc. is to adhere to the guidelines of training put forth by the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons; and this includes an absolute minimum of one year of off service Medical Training.

PAOMFS, Inc. also adapts the scope of the specialty recognized by the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (Excepting General Anaesthesia Training for OMS).
